Introducing Meld: North Yorkshire’s new Business Community
Our New Business Community
Meld is a new business support community for people starting and running businesses in North Yorkshire. The team behind the project are building Meld to be a melting pot of ideas, support, advice, nice people and cool businesses.
We hope this becomes a place you come to mix, connect, belong, and build.
Why Meld?
We believe in ‘mixing it up, to be better.’ If you think mixing with other business owners, hearing a mix of ideas, opinions, solutions and business concepts would be helpful, then Meld could be for you.
What’s the Offer?
Joining Meld is free and ultimately gives you a business support community of local people who like you are starting and running small businesses.
When you join Meld you get access to our online community platform where you can find:
- Webinars and workshops on business related issues
- Online and in-person meet ups
- Fun competitions (typical prizes are £100)
There will also be community spaces to:
- Discuss with your community (think Facebook or LinkedIn without the ads)
- Promote your business, share successes or wins
- Get feedback on your ideas, plans or marketing
- Ask for help
When?
It’s already live, you can apply to join now.
Where?
Meld is run on an online community platform which you can access through your web browser or most people use the mobile app (iOS and Android). Members come from across North Yorkshire, so in-person meet-ups can happen anywhere in the region but most often take place in Harrogate and York.
Who’s it For?
This community is open to anyone who has graduated from the York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub’s longer (peer-to-peer) projects.
These projects support a vast range of local business, so Meld members and their businesses come in all shapes and sizes, and from right across North Yorkshire.
In the end, what unites Meld members it that we all got involved because we want to improve our businesses, and have found it really helps to be part of supportive community of friendly people all trying to do the same thing.
