14 Sep – UK Shared Prosperity Fund Webinar

14 Sep 2023

Join us on 14th September for an update on North Yorkshire Council’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) activity in the region aimed at supporting local businesses.

Online: 3pm-4pm

UK Shared Prosperity Fund

In this session, you will find out about our upcoming launch of programmes to support local businesses and boost productivity. This will include grant schemes for individual businesses to apply to, as well as other business support opportunities being funded by the North Yorkshire UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Information will be provided on the expected timescales of the application process and grant awards.

The UK SPF is a central pillar of the government’s levelling up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the country, investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills. You can find out more in the prospectus on the government website.

North Yorkshire has potentially been awarded £16.9m to invest in people and businesses across the county. Download our initial investment plan – approved December 2022 (pdf / 2 MB).

The fund has three investment priorities:

  • communities and place
  • supporting local business
  • people and skills

Over the course of this first financial year, activity has already been undertaken to deliver local community development, support for town centre activity, visitor economy promotion and carbon reduction programmes throughout the county.
