City of York Council is pleased to be partnering with Google Digital Garage to provide free live webinar training. This one-hour short course has been developed by marketing experts at Google as part of the New Fundamentals training series from Google Digital Garage. This morning session offers two webinars.

What can you expect from the Understanding machine learning webinar?

This course teaches the foundations of how machine learning models learn and work, the components of designing a problem for machine learning to solve, and a basic understanding of the resources and tools needed for a business to invest in machine learning. Aimed at small business leaders or anyone looking to get a better understanding on the subject.

In this session you will learn:

  • How different machine learning models work
  • The essentials for preparing data for a machine learning project
  • Options for implementing machine learning for a business

What can you expect from the Introduction to the Cloud webinar?

If you’d like to have a better understanding about cloud computing, this short course will help you learn how digital technology has evolved, and the impact and digital innovation available to businesses using the cloud. You will learn more about how the cloud works, and what you can do with your data in the cloud. This course is designed for business owners, managers, and employees who want to stay up to date on the latest trends in technology.

In this session you will learn:

  • The evolution of digital technology and its impact on businesses
  • What is the cloud and how does it work?
  • What you can do with your data in the cloud

The session is run using YouTube and lasts 2 hours with a 30-minute comfort break. The course assumes no prior knowledge or experience so there is no pre-reading necessary. There will be the opportunity to ask questions during the session.

Thursday, 13th June from 9:30 – 10:30am. Comfort break of 30 minutes and from 11am – 12noon.
